Leverage Seasonal & Trend-Based Content
- Create boards or pins that align with seasonal trends, holidays, or popular events (e.g., “Spring Shed Inspiration” or “Winter Backyard Oasis”). This taps into what people are searching for at specific times of the year. I attached a screenshot of a quick Google Trends search with a few terms, and we can see that more people will start searching for summer backyards/backyard shed/backyard gazebo from now until about May/June where it hits its peak. I would suggest continuing to post photos that were taken during the spring and summer as that is what users will be looking towards.
Keywords
- Since the main area is the title of the pin-- it's crucial to have a title that uses your primary keywords to maximize reach.
- The second area is the body text of the pin-- this is a great area where you can add keywords and explain the pin.
Optimize for Mobile Users
- Ensure your pins are optimized for mobile viewing, as most Pinterest users browse on their phones (typically, over half use an iPhone). Use vertical images with a 2:3 aspect ratio. I know editing some of your photos into a 2:3 ratio would compromise the quality, so rather, moving forward, try and get photos that are in landscape format (holding the phone horizontal) and portrait format (holding the phone vertical). This will help gather content that will work across many social platforms.

Add Links Strategically
- Use links in your pins to drive traffic to specific landing pages, such as product pages, testimonials, or a blog post that expands on the theme of the pin. This not only helps with engagement but also with conversions. Most of your pins should have a unique "destination link"-- when creating a pin, add a link to an appropriate product page. Your the homepage URL should already be on the profile and at the top of all pins, so utilize this area for something other than your homepage!

Scheduling Pins
- Consistency on any given social platform is beneficial, but especially Pinterest. I would suggest using Pinterest’s scheduler (or our social media scheduler for multiple platforms) to post consistently during the week-- if you have an extra hour or or two one day, this would be helpful to make sure you're consistently getting content up.
