Getting Started with Bulk Email in MarketPulse to make sure you have the foundation in place.
Mass email often begins within the Contacts (CRM) section of MarketPulse. You can select multiple contacts manually or use Smart Lists to filter for specific segments (e.g., all leads with the tag "Interested").
How to Initiate a Bulk Email
- Navigate to Contacts > Smart Lists.
- Select the contacts you wish to message by checking the boxes next to their names, or click the top checkbox to select all contacts on the current page.
- Click the Send Email icon from the bulk action toolbar.
- Follow the prompts to select your email template and configure sending settings.
Batch Scheduling Email Campaigns
To protect your sender reputation and avoid being flagged as spam by mail servers (like Gmail or Outlook), it is highly recommended to use Batch Scheduling rather than sending thousands of emails simultaneously.
Scheduling Modes
When you prepare a mass email, you have three primary sending options:
- Send All at Once: Recommended only for very small lists (under 50 contacts).
- Scheduled Delivery: Sends the entire list at a specific future date and time.
- Drip Mode: The most secure method for mass email. This allows you to specify exactly how many emails are sent per minute, hour, or day.
Best Practices for Drip Mode
- Batch Quantity: Start with a conservative number, such as 50–100 emails per hour, to "warm up" your domain if you haven't sent mass emails recently.
- Delivery Windows: You can define specific "active" hours (e.g., Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm) so that automated batches do not land in customer inboxes in the middle of the night.
Ensuring Deliverability
To maximize the number of emails that reach the inbox rather than the spam folder, follow these "Internet Hygiene" steps:
- Use UTM Codes: Always include UTM Codes in your email links. This allows Google Analytics to properly attribute website traffic to the "Email" channel rather than "Direct."
- Verify Domain Health: Monitor your domain's reputation using Google Postmaster Tools.
- Clean Your Lists: Regularly prune contacts with "Bounced" or "DND" (Do Not Disturb) status to maintain a high sender score.
